Why we can never move your class's money

Connecting the class bank account gives ClassFund.Club read-only access. What that means, and why nothing on our side could ever move the money.

It's the first thing parents ask when the chair suggests connecting the class bank account: "If it's connected to our bank, can it take money out?" It can't — and not because we promise not to. It's built so that it can't.

Read-only, by design

The chair grants the connection at the bank itself, through Enable Banking, an open-banking provider in Finland. What the chair approves is permission to read the account's transactions. That list is all ClassFund.Club ever receives.

There is nothing in ClassFund.Club that can start a payment. Not a feature we keep switched off — the code simply isn't there. So no mistake of ours, and no break-in, could move a class's money.

You stay in control

  • The chair can withdraw the permission at the bank at any moment.
  • Or disconnect the bank in ClassFund.Club: what has already been read stays in the books, and nothing new arrives.
  • The money stays in the class's own account the whole time.

Rather not connect the bank at all?

That's fine. Download the statement from your bank and upload it instead — CSV. It's free on every plan, and payments are matched to children exactly the same way.

And paying for ClassFund.Club itself?

A plan is paid by card on the checkout of Paddle, our reseller. The card number is typed into Paddle's page and stays with Paddle — we never see it. The class's money is never involved.
